Pull Facebook Ads data into Excel: a connector web query or an export

Last reviewed October 24, 2026

Quick answerPull Facebook Ads data into Excel with Meta's own Ads Manager for Excel add-in or, when other platforms join, a connector web query that you update with Refresh All. The Windsor.ai link refreshes by hand.

Pull Facebook Ads data into Excel: export, Meta add-in or web query

Pull Facebook Ads data into Excel with a connector web query that you refresh with one click, with Meta's own Excel add-in, or by exporting a file from Ads Manager each time. A connector replaces the new download with Refresh All, and that refresh is still manual.

Three ways to put Facebook Ads data in Excel
RouteUpdateLimit
Ads Reporting exportA new file each timeWindow up to 37 months back
Meta Ads Manager for ExcelRefresh data replaces earlier resultsAs many ad accounts as you like

The export route: Meta's Ads Reporting exports a saved report as an .xlsx or .csv file, and you need administrator, advertiser or analyst access to the ad account.

Meta's add-in route: in Excel, open the Insert tab, click My Add-ins and choose Meta Ads Manager for Excel. Then pick the ad accounts, a report template and a date range.

Step 1: copy the API key and add a web query

In Windsor.ai, connect Facebook Ads with a Facebook account that has at least analyst access to the ad account, and choose one, several or all ad accounts. Pick Excel in the Data Destinations section and copy your API key URL. In Excel, click Data, then Web, paste the API key URL in the pop-up and click Ok.

Windsor.ai says each data source gets its own URL, so add one web query per connection. If a connection fails, check the API key, then check that the data source is connected to your Windsor.ai account. Windsor.ai adds that Meta checks roles when you authorize, so access granted later needs a reauthorization.

Step 2: refresh the workbook

Windsor.ai's Excel page says reports stay continuously updated but also says Excel data updates need a manual Refresh All, so treat an Excel connection as a manual refresh.

To get the latest data, go to the Data tab and click Refresh All. Microsoft also documents Excel options that refresh external data when a workbook opens and at timed intervals, under Data, Queries & Connections, Properties. Windsor.ai does not say whether they apply to its link, so try one on a copy of the workbook first. Microsoft notes that external data may be disabled on your computer.

Step 3: more accounts, more platforms

Windsor.ai's Free plan connects 1 data source and 1 account. A new account also gets a 30-day free trial period with 10 data sources and 15 accounts, then moves to the Forever Free plan, while the Terms say trial access ends.

As read on October 24, 2026, Basic is $19 a month billed annually, with the year paid up front, or $23 on monthly billing, for 3 data sources and 75 accounts. Windsor.ai's sizing guide says campaigns, fields and rows are not counted, only data sources and accounts.

Windsor.ai connects Excel to Facebook Ads through a web query that uses your API key, and each Refresh All pulls the latest data. Windsor.ai pricing sizes a plan by sources and accounts, and what Windsor.ai is explains the meters. Move to a connector when the workbook also needs Google Ads, GA4 or other platforms.

At rivals, Supermetrics includes one core destination in Starter and Growth, and Excel is one of them. Dataslayer lists Excel as a core destination with unlimited rows on paid plans. Power My Analytics includes Excel from Grow, not on Business. Coupler.io lists Microsoft Excel among destinations on every plan. Windsor.ai vs Power My Analytics compares one pair. For Facebook Ads alone, Meta's add-in covers as many ad accounts as you like.
