Windsor.ai BigQuery integration: setup, plans and sync schedules

Last reviewed October 24, 2026

Quick answerWindsor.ai loads BigQuery through a destination task that creates the table, partitions it by date and needs billing on. Standard, $99 a month billed annually, adds hourly runs; Google's transfer suits Google Ads alone.

Windsor.ai BigQuery integration: what the setup needs

Windsor.ai loads BigQuery through a destination task. You choose BigQuery as the destination, click Add Destination Task, name the task, sign in with a Google account (OAuth 2.0) or a service account file, and enter the Google Cloud project ID and dataset ID. Windsor.ai creates the table if it does not exist. Hourly runs start at Standard, $99 a month billed annually, as read on October 24, 2026.

Setup pointWhat Windsor.ai's documentation says
Sign-inGoogle account (OAuth) or service account file; OAuth tokens can expire
RolesBigQuery Data Editor and BigQuery Job User for the service account
Google Cloud billingBilling enabled on the project for the connection test
TableCreated if it does not exist; partitioned by date by default
ScheduleDaily on Basic (5 tasks); hourly from Standard; 15 minutes on Professional
BackfillPaid plans only; on Basic each backfill counts as a scheduled sync

The project ID comes from your Google Cloud Console and the dataset ID from your BigQuery project. Windsor.ai recommends a service account when updates are scheduled. It explains the "Reauthentication is needed" error as an expired OAuth token, tied to the session length set in Google Workspace.

Advanced settings on the form are optional. Test connection, then Save runs the task; open the project in BigQuery and refresh the dataset to check the data.

Tables, partitions and backfills

Windsor.ai supports clustering and partitioning for BigQuery tables, which it says helps improve query performance and reduce costs. The default is partitioning by date. When you add fields or edit the query, it updates the table schema on the next sync.

Backfilling history is for paid plans only, and Forever Free has no scheduled-sync backfills. On Basic a backfill uses one of the 5 destination tasks, because each backfill counts as a scheduled sync.

Which plan a BigQuery setup needs

Free and Basic each allow 5 destination tasks with a daily scheduled sync, each task one table updated once a day. Basic is $19 a month billed annually, or $23 on monthly billing, for 3 sources and 75 accounts. Standard allows unlimited tasks and hourly runs: $99 billed annually, or $118 monthly, for 7 sources and 75 accounts. Professional adds a 15-minute schedule, 14 sources and 500 accounts: $499 billed annually, or $598 monthly.

The BigQuery help article words hourly schedules as "Standard plans and above", so read hourly as Standard and up. Plans are sized by sources and accounts, not by data volume. Windsor.ai pricing has the full plan table.

When Google's own transfer is enough

Pick Windsor.ai for hourly runs, backfills or several ad platforms in one BigQuery project, and Google's transfer for Google Ads or GA4 alone. Google lists its Google Ads and GA4 transfers as no-charge connectors, with 24 hours between Google Ads runs; Google Ads BigQuery connector compares that route with paid ones. Google lists its Facebook Ads transfer among paid connectors billed in slot-hours, and how to connect Facebook Ads to BigQuery sets out all three routes.

BigQuery bills storage and queries separately from any connector: the first 10 GiB of storage and 1 TiB of queries each month are free, then on-demand queries cost $6.25 per TiB in us-central1.

The Free plan's first 30 days allow 5 destination tasks, enough for a daily BigQuery test load. After the 30 days the account moves to a Forever Free plan, with the Terms saying trial access ends.
